About

This seems to always be the most difficult part. You would think that it would be a breeze to write about yourself (who knows you better than yourself?) but putting yourself out into the internet world for millions to judge (if you’re attracting that many people, you must be doing something right–or extremely wrong) creates a slight tension. It’s not atypical to sugarcoat yourself–I’ll try my best to avoid that. My main reason for this blog is to record events in my life (big surprise there), typically involving love, allowing for reflection later on down this long, mysterious road. I used to be lucky enough to have a person in my life that I would share these thoughts with but that relationship ended–more on that later–and none of my current friends have the time and/or interest to hear me rattle on about the subject. To my knowledge, most of them don’t share my views on love so I get mocked every now and then, which discourages me further from discussing the topic with them. If I’m fortunate enough, I’ll have some intriguing conversations with other souls out there. It won’t all be deep. Hopefully, we can share some laughs along the way. Another factor making this process a tinge more difficult is that I will be blogging anonymously (to the best of my ability). So if your intuition is tingling, telling you that I’m hiding something, you should listen to him/her/it but don’t be afraid to ask for further details because I might elaborate; Being open and anonymous simultaneously might prove to be a daunting task. Since I revealed my intentions, I should probably elaborate on my reasons for desiring to retain my anonymity:

  1. I want the luxury and opportunity to place my thoughts out there and minimize the chances of it coming back to bite me.
  2. I will surely discuss the people in my life and I don’t want to cause them any harm.
  3. We know people tend to be more honest–sometimes recklessly–when there is camouflage. Assuming that I attract any sort of viewership that do wish to converse with me, I expect it to be more raw.

Now that the boring items are out of the way (maybe you’ll find the rest boring, too, but hopefully not), here are some facts about me:

  1. I have a quarter-century’s worth of life experiences under my belt.
  2. It typically hurts when anything hits my crotch.
  3. I received my degrees in Education but my current job involves includes, but is not limited to, feeding people delicious food and (hopefully) ushering them to the state of inebriation.
  4. I passionately enjoy music and dancing.
  5. I like to ingest–a lot.
  6. I have a large collection of ties and I’m slowly assembling an army of bow ties so that they can have an epic battle one day.
  7. My shoes might want a part of that legen-wait for it-dary action.
  8. A slight window into my soul via music: Ron Pope, Adele, Sara Bareilles, James Morrison, Ingrid Michaelson, Erick Baker, Usher, Alabama Shakes, Delta Rae, Michael Buble, Lil Wayne, Bruno Mars, Drake, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Ciara, Rascal Flatts, Trey Songz, etc.
  9. Via movies and television: Step Brothers, 40 Year-Old Virgin, Remember the Titans, Blue Valentine, Hercules, The Notebook, Elf, The Santa Clause, Inception, The Five-Year Engagement, UP, Little Giants, Wedding Crashers, Inception, HIMYM, The League, Dexter, The Walking Dead, Once Upon A Time, The Office, Modern Family, and plenty more.
  10. This last one I contemplated leaving out for several reasons but it is important to me: I am new to the Christian faith. If you have found a place in your life for God, I’m happy for you. If you haven’t, I pray that you will one day, but please don’t blindly respond to any of my posts with ignorance (I politely ask that of you regarding posts outside of religion as well); I’ll gladly engage in thought-provoking dialogue but I have no place for disrespectful banter. So yes, past events that I will discuss will be hypocritical. Even my present and future actions will probably not line up with the Bible. Not to use it as an out, but I’m not God or Jesus, and I will make mistakes but that will not deter me to try and be a righteous, god-fearing and loving man. In the words of Frank Sinatra: “That’s life.”

Bienvenidos.
